BASIC SUMMARY:

We are seeking a friendly and attentive Recreation Attendant to work in our pool department. This role is responsible for creating a safe, clean, and welcoming poolside environment for members and guests. You will assist with setting up lounge areas and chairs, maintaining cleanliness of the pool area at all times, monitor guest needs, and ensure all safety standards are met at all times. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, a professional appearance, and a positive attitude that enhances the overall member experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Check in members and guests and handout towels, locker keys and lotion as needed.
• Distribute and control towel inventory.
• Assist with laundry duties.
• Adhere to all pool safety standards, including safety procedures for adverse weather conditions.
• Greet members and guests warmly, ensuring a welcoming poolside atmosphere.
• Set up, refresh, and tear down cabanas.
• Assist in set-up and tear down for poolside functions such as Galas and Special Events
• Clean, maintain, and position pool furniture.
• Pick up trash and dirty towels and reposition chairs throughout shift.
• Performs all duties in a timely and professional manner
• Assist Fitness & Wellness Team with towels, laundry and general cleaning
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory of pool and spa towels throughout shift, obtaining clean towels from the laundry and returning dirty towels.
• Maintain cleanliness of pool and spa locker rooms.
• Assist in any general cleaning as required.
• Assist Pool Technician as needed by skimming pools to clear debris.
• Enforce all related pool rules in a polite, professional manner.
• Ensure guest safety by enforcing all rules.
• Assist Food and Beverage team by bussing and service if needed.
• Attend all meetings and service training sessions as required.
• Available to assist sports attendant desk if needed.
• Report all suspicious persons, activities or hazardous conditions to the Security Department.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous hospitality, customer service, or poolside experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
• Ability to remain attentive, approachable, and proactive in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
• Reliable, responsible, and committed to safety and service standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Fluent in English (read, write and speak).
• Ability to speak a second language is an asset.
• Work under pressure and handle difficult situations.
• Assist with poolside events and activities.
• Serve as an ambassador of the club, upholding its values and standards of excellence.
• Deal with customers in a professional manner with patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Schedule vacations during the off-season months.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – ABILITY TO:

• Grasp, lift, push/pull, carry or transport up to 50 lbs.
• Push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands and arms.

• Stay in the sun and endure hot weather conditions for prolonged periods.

• Stand and walk for length of scheduled shift.
• Express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.
• Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
