About Human Element 

Founded in 2024, Human Element is an emerging investment manager based in Greenwich, Connecticut. We back early-stage companies at the intersection of aerospace, defense, and advanced technologies. Our largest Fund I position, Firefly Aerospace, successfully IPO’d in August, providing early validation of our strategy and underwriting approach. As we prepare to launch Fund II, we are expanding our team to support this next phase of growth—an opportunity to help shape the trajectory of a high-conviction, fast-scaling venture platform from the ground up.

The Role

We are hiring an Investment Analyst to support the full investment lifecycle and deepen our engagement with founders and investors. This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to portfolio companies and limited partners. You will be expected to take ownership, work independently, and contribute meaningfully across sourcing, diligence, and communication.

As an Analyst, you will:

• Deal Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities across aerospace, defense, and advanced technologies.
• Due Diligence: Conduct financial, market, and technical analysis to support investment decisions.
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain models to assess company performance and scenario outcomes.
• Investment Committee Support: Prepare detailed investment memoranda, coordinate materials, and help facilitate Investment Committee meetings in line with firm policies and procedures.
• Documentation & Execution: Manage transaction workflows, track deliverables, and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Portfolio Support: Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and strategic engagement with existing portfolio companies.
• Investor Communications: Draft LP updates, prepare fundraising materials, and participate in investor meetings and pitches.
• Ownership & Execution: Drive projects forward in a fast-moving environment, balancing detail-oriented execution with strategic thinking.

This role is designed for someone eager to gain broad, front-to-back venture capital experience in a lean and collaborative setting.

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for someone who brings a mix of analytical rigor, curiosity, and initiative. Specifically:

• Experience: 2–5 years in venture capital, private equity, or investment banking.
• Analytical Strength: Strong financial modeling and quantitative skills.
• Communication: Clear, concise writing and confident verbal presentation.
• Strategic & Tactical: Ability to think big-picture while diving into details.
• Mindset: Intellectually curious, proactive, independent, and resourceful.
• Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with aerospace and defense is a plus.
• Location: Ideally based in the New York Metro Area; remote possible for exceptional candidates.
