Job Description

Overview: The Psychiatric Physician at Cone Health can practice in various clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, hybrid, full-time, part-time, and relief roles, across multiple facilities within the Cone Health system. These include, but are not limited to, the Behavioral Health Hospital, Behavioral Health Unit Crisis Center, and outpatient locations in Greensboro, Kernersville, Reidsville, and Burlington. The Cone Health Psychiatrist is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and fulfilling all clinical duties.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides multidisciplinary team coordination services within assigned areas.
2. Mentors Cone Health psychiatry residents and other students as needed.
3. Uses independent judgment in diagnosing and treating patients, developing treatment plans, and guiding the interdisciplinary team, including advanced practice providers, to achieve patient care goals.
4. Models and upholds professional standards per MCHS policies, including Medical Staff By-Laws, Service Excellence commitments, practice standards, physician expectations, and professional image standards.
5. Participates in medical audits, quality improvement programs, investigations, peer reviews, and other assessments related to professional care standards.
6. Engages in continuous improvement initiatives and applies evidence-based practices to enhance healthcare quality and service, aiming for outcomes in the 90th percentile or above.
7. Maintains records according to MCHS policies, laws, and regulations.
8. Contributes to the development of clinical guidelines, procedures, and programs, and recommends improvements to care quality and efficiency.
9. Shares designated on-call responsibilities with other physicians in the assigned areas as needed.

Qualifications:

• Board certification in Psychiatry, with fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry.
• North Carolina Medical License.
• North Carolina Drug Enforcement Administration License.
