Minimum: MA or MSc in Anthropology/Archaeology with a focus in Zooarchaeology, archaeological field school training, and 1-3 year’s experience working in an archaeological field or laboratory setting. Successful candidates will have demonstrated abilities in working with many forms of data, legacy collections material, and a strong background with Excel.
– Demonstrated knowledge of prehistoric and/or 17th- through 21st-century material culture, particularly zooarchaeological material from the Mid-Atlantic region.
– Must possess a detail-oriented and organized working style with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to learn.
– Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Must have a willingness to interact with the public and be part of public media.
– Additionally, must be able to lift and transport 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with artifact databases such as TMS, Re:Discovery, DAACS, ICMS, or other. Previous supervisory experience of volunteers, interns, or other staff.
