In this vital role, you will mediate disputes involving child custody and visitation, provide expert recommendations to the court, and work closely with parents, legal professionals, and community agencies. This position requires strong interpersonal, analytical, and clinical skills, and a commitment to child welfare and family well-being. The ideal candidate will possess at least a master's degree in psychology, social work, marriage, family and child counseling, or other behavioral science substantially related to marriage and family interpersonal relationships, and two (2) years of experience in counseling or psychotherapy preferably in a setting related to the areas of responsibility of the family conciliation court and with the diverse population to be served.
This position is located at the Larson Justice Center in Indio, CA and will provide support to the Desert Region which includes Blythe, Indio and Palm Springs courthouses. For a complete list of the qualifications and essential duties, please refer to the job description.

Requirements within the first six to twelve months: All Family Court Services Child Custody Recommending Counselors must complete a minimum of 40 hours of initial custody and visitation mediation training within the first 6 months of employment as a court-connected CCRC. Additionally, all CCRCs must complete 16 hours of advanced domestic violence training within the first 12 months of employment as governed by Family Code §1816 and California Rule of Court 5.230.By selecting "Yes" below, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this requirement for the position.

Continuing Education Requirements: Per California Rule of Court 5.210, all CCRCs must complete 8 hours of related continuing education programs, conferences and workshops each calendar year.
