SOFTWARE ENGINEER SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

20+ hours per week, flexible schedule, $30.00/hour

Opportunity exists to extend beyond summer

The Software Engineer Intern will work as a full member of an engineering team within the Technology Department on project-based assignments. The intern will be involved in all areas of the software development process, including working on production systems and code. This is a great opportunity to gain realistic experience and have a direct impact on the success of the team and company.

Specifically, the internship will involve:

  • Reviewing existing automated processes to identify business needs and developing a migration plan.
  • Implementing the transition to a new flexible and dynamic framework using Python, Apache Airflow, and SQL, while adhering to best software development practices.

Candidates must meet the following required qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar program
  • Proficient in a high-level programming language; Python experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational database systems
  • Strong math, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem solve effectively both independently and on a team in a timely and level-headed manner
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Ideally, candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of financial markets and instruments preferred, but not required
  • Locally based out of the Baltimore metro during the summer months preferred, but not required
  • Ability to continue to intern beyond the summer months preferred, but not required

Interns with a minimum of two months of service and a satisfactory internship record at Campbell are eligible for reimbursement of up to 80% of the cost of a certification or additional training, up to a $500 cap, given a final passing grade. The certification or additional training must be related to their field of study and pre-approved by their manager and senior management and must be completed prior to the end of the internship at Campbell. Normal tuition costs are not reimbursable for interns.
